Samburu is the most popular reserve in northern Kenya offering you one of its own kind of a classic Kenya Safari with unique wildlife encounters.

Wildlife viewing is good, and most big safari animals are easily spotted. The arid environment is home to a variety of north Kenya specials – both birds and mammals.

In summary; the reserve has rich wildlife with fame for abundance in rare northern specialist species such as;

The Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk, and the Beisa Oryx (Also referred to as Samburu Special).

Another Wildlife encounter here includes over 900 herds of elephants. To top it all, this park is home to big cat predators.

Big predator of Samburu National Park:

This big predator includes; Lion, Leopard, and Cheetah which happens to be an important attraction here.

This is the only park where we find the famous “Kamunyak” – the Miracle Lioness that adapted the baby Oryx.

While still here, we will have the opportunity to see eye to eye with the Wild dogs plus over 450 birding species hence a birders paradise destination.

In the same fashion, this is the only park where we find the five birding species categorized as vulnerable.

These are African Darter, Great Egret, White-headed Vulture, Martial Eagle, and the Yellow-billed Ox-pecker.

Like that’s not all, also critically endangered species under CITIES – Pancake tortoise (malacochersus thornier) is in the reserve.

We will be spending 2 Nights at the Samburu National Park with accommodation at Samburu Sopa Lodge located right at the heart of the park- up the cliff hence an excellent game viewing.

Our Next Safari destination will be Lake Nakuru National Park, which lies on the floor of the Great Rift Valley Lake.

We will be driving past the Coffee plantations with a stopover at the Equator line where you’ll have a chance to test the law of gravity.

The tour then continues to the floor of The great rift valley (Lake Nakuru National Park) which happens to be the only park in East Africa that hosts a larger number of both black and white rhino.

Similarly, the park also hosts a wide variety of other different species of wildlife that call this park their home.

We will be staying here for one night at Lake Nakuru Lodge, which is also located right at the heart of the Park.

Visiting here gives you a beach experience within the dry land where you get to savor the tranquility and soak up the enchantment of wildlife scattered across your panorama.

The lake is a freshwater lake fringed with papyrus and yellow acacias along its shores.

Get your cameras ready to snap amazing hippos frolicking in the shallows and the cacophony of twittering birds creates a lasting impression of Lake Naivasha.

There are 400 species of birds of which Great Cormorants, Long-tailed, Fish Eagles, Pelicans and all types of Kingfishers, as well as the Grey-backed fiscal, are some.

Lake Naivasha isn’t where you find the big five, but the absence of dangerous animals opens up new safari opportunities.
